My Wabi Special Build
Well, I decided to finally start posting bike content. I’ve ridden bikes my entire life, but since getting my first fixie ~6 years ago, my interest in cycling has reached new levels. Currently, this interest is targeted at track bikes, tracklocross, anything with butted tubes, and vintage mountain bikes.
Walking around campus, there have been a number of bikes that catch my eye. So much so that I created the TAMU Fixed Gear Club and began leaving invitation cards in spokes. I’m hoping to dedicate a space on this site towards my passion for bikes and share more things I find interesting in general.
So, what better way to start than with my own build:
My Wabi Special
This is my Wabi Special in Sapphire Blue. I built this frame up in summer 2025, with the help of my new internship salary.
My goal with this build was simple: Do Anything.
I was sick of worrying about bent tubes in aluminum frames and wanted something real; something steel. With Reynolds 725 Double Butted Chromoly Steel, this bike is beautiful, comfortable, durable, and light all in one.

Conclusion
Overall, this bike is amazing, and I have no complaints.
side note: they are being honest when they say it only fits 32c tires, I was not able to fit a pair of 35c gravlking SS in the rear chainstay, but the fork cleared with minimal room. Im unsure how GravelGoon (RIP) was able to fit 35c tires in his wabi classic.
